The Olympic Charioteer is a look back into Ancient
Greece. It's about three men: a slave who is a charioteer, his
Tegean master and a Spartan. The story really focuses on the
slave, Lysandridas, and his journeys and how he changes and learns who
he really is. This is a historical adventure that is loaded with
not only chariots and horses but a look into the political make up of
Ancient Greece.
While the characters are fictional, there is so much great historical
information in the story that you'll really feel like you've learned so
much. It is based on real incidents recorded in the ancient
writings of Herodotus. If you enjoy historical novels or are
interested in the history of Ancient Greece, this is a wonderful book
for both.
